Where Greenwood Lake Meets Good Times

Dock-and-dine lakeside dining, cold craft pours, and American comfort food right on the water in Greenwood Lake, NY.

About Us

Forty Sterling Road sits on the edge of Greenwood Lake with one of the most coveted views in the Hudson Valley. Pull up by boat, roll in by car, or just follow the sound of laughter drifting off the water. The deck overlooks the lake, the bar keeps things lively, and the kitchen turns out the kind of food that makes people come back for twenty-plus years, which many guests here actually have.

Under new ownership, Emerald Point has taken that loyal history seriously. The menu got a sharp refresh without losing the soul of the place. The pulled pork sandwich has already earned a reputation of its own, and the broader menu gives regulars plenty of new reasons to explore. With 912 reviews averaging 4.3 stars, the place earns its following honestly.

Valet service on busy Friday nights, a dock for boaters, and a pub atmosphere that never takes itself too seriously round out the experience. This is the kind of spot that becomes a ritual, the Friday night boat ride that ends here, the Sunday afternoon that stretches longer than planned.

What We Offer

Emerald Point runs a full American kitchen paired with a proper pub bar, seven days a week starting at noon. Lunch flows into dinner without missing a beat, and the waterfront deck turns any weekday into something worth leaving the house for.

The food leans into American classics done with care: sandwiches built to impress, hearty mains, shareable plates that hold up against a cold drink. The bar stocks what you'd want alongside a lake view, from draft pours to cocktails that match the laid-back energy of the room. On weekends, the kitchen runs until 10 PM, giving the dinner crowd time to settle in and stay a while.

Dock-and-dine access sets Emerald Point apart from anything landlocked. Boaters can tie up and walk straight to a table, making Friday and Saturday nights on the water a genuine event. Valet service takes the stress out of busy nights on shore.

"The “New” Emerald Point has passed my test. We been going for years and always loved the place. The menu revisions are very good. The pork sandwich was a knock out and We are excited to try all the dishes as the old menus was a bit tired. Portion size is great, we all took some home. Service was good as well. While we rarely ever sat inside it is much brighter and a welcome change. The outdoor bar and deck is closed for a while longer but that refresh will be worth the wait. Best of luck to the new owners."

"Great dock and dine experience on Friday night. First time here under the new ownership. Thought all the food was very good and enjoyed our evening overlooking the lake. Appreciated the valet service docking and overall service was very good despite Friday night crowd."

"Food was good. Server wasn't that great. Just wanted to have dinner by the water, unfortunately outside seats were not ready yet. Been coming here for over 20 years. We will be back I'm sure"

"I’m writing this review to provide honest feedback and hopefully help improve the restaurant experience. The main reason we chose to come here was for the Cajun Shrimp Alfredo appetizer, which we had enjoyed in the past. Unfortunately, it seems the recipe has changed. The version we received was completely different and lacked the flavor and quality we remembered. The drinks were also disappointing. The kids’ lemonade tasted extremely watered down with very little flavor. The margarita was similar — very bland and it seemed like there was barely any alcohol in it. Overall, the appetizers and drinks lacked flavor and did not meet expectations based on our previous experiences here. We hope this feedback is taken constructively because this used to be one of our favorite spots, and we’d love to see it return to the quality we remembered."
